Area: 610 square miles, O'ahu is the third largest and second oldest island in the Hawaiian Island chain.
Geography: O'ahu was formed by two volcanoes that erupted four to six million years ago. Today, what's left of those eruptions are two mountains ranges - the Wai'anae Mountains, which cross O'ahu at the elevations of more than 3,000 feet. At the base of
these mountains, more than 50 beach parks wrap the island in their playful arms, offering visitors a dazzling array of ocean activities to savor each sunny Hawaiian Day.
